Monitor Advice

Hi folks, looking for a bit of advice on the monitor front. Getting myself a fairly high grade pc upgrade (Nvidia 1080 card, plenty of Ram oomph to run VR et all), but I'm a little clueless on the myriad monitor scene... I'd like 27 inch, 144hz, G sync and low lag, not really bothered with 4K, and have about €600 of a budget (potential for a bump on that).

    Guidance would be very appreciated!

I purchased a PC Specialist desktop (see specs here), and I faced the same conundrum as you are now. I received some great advice on the PCS forums, and ended up buying the Dell S2716DG monitor, a 27in, 144Hz, G-Sync TN panel (1ms).

There are a few reviews on YouTube, if you want to get some opinion on it.

The monitor is £500 on amazon.co.uk, but shipping to Ireland will add various amounts to this, depending on who you choose to buy from.
It's listed at €703 on dell.ie, and, on a whim, I opened a chat with them to ask why the higher price, truly expecting the usual "this is Rip Off Ireland, we charge whatever" message. However, the chap on the other end was very nice, and offered it to me for €640 shipped, and I ordered it immediately. Received it in less than a week, IIRC.

    Hope this helps!
