Solar pv install query

I'm looking at purchasing a 6 panel pv solar panel system. It works out economically better to purchase the system from my supplier than to get a solar company in to do an all in one system install.
Are there any qualified professional installers who would do a pv solar for in west Ireland as really would prefer this method.
Also for anyone who has had this installed - how do the installers work out where to drill so the bracket is drilled direct to rafter and not having holes drilled in wrong places and filled after with mastic

Eek! Please don't use those hanger bolts that you drill through the slates or tiles. This is not a good way to fit solar PV. Wind buffetting will eventually cause this to either break tiles or develop leaks. It is not permitted under the MCS standards in the UK and has recently been condemned by Homebond.

There are much better mounting options for retrofit that any competent roofer can do. PM me if you want more info on that. But please don't let anyone drill through your slates or tiles and screw the mountings straight to the rafter. I know it is common practice, but it shouldn't be....

What are your preferred mounting hooks for slate and tile Q?

The principle is that the hook shouldn't make contact with slates or tiles because it does move with wind buffeting. So regardless of hook type, you then need a flashing system. Genius Roof Flashings are a good low-cost way of doing this. See HERE. For retrofitting on slate, this solar slate plate is a nice solution too. The nice thing with it is that if you break the odd slate, you have spares because it replaces a slate.

    Been in your position.
Got all the fittings (rails, screws, hooks, manual and video) from this guys here.
    Very helpful.

Then, been quoted in region of €1,500 to do the install, found a roofer that fitted the panels in less than a day.
The man knew all of "how-to" once i shown him the video from supplier.

    Have fun...
