Need more information. The size of the extension is irrelevant, its what is above the doorframe that matters. Most likely the answer is yes, you will need one.

We were renovating and the builders fit the (new) bath at the same time as they completed the other work. The silicone seal they put in keeps coming open- they came back to fix it but the same thing happened again. We have grosfillex on the walls and an acrylic bath. On reading various bits of advice online I'm wondering if the issue is the acrylic- people seem to be saying silicone doesn't stick properly to that. Anyone any experience with this? Do I need to use an acrylic seal instead, and would something like this work?
