Anyone know if there is any point in turning up for the NCT without the reg. Cert.?

I have it booked for tomorrow but for the life of me I cand find the bloody thing.

Is it an automatic turn away, or is there any leeway given?

    TIA

I think you just need it to collect the cert, technically. They will still test the car.

All my NCT's I don't think they've ever even asked for it!

You may or not be asked for it, if you are, the test cert will witheld until you produce it, regardless it will be tested.

Never ever been asked for a reg cert for a NCT test, only item asked for is photo ID (drivers licence) of the person bringing the car for the test.

Ring them. Mine always asked for so rather than miss your appointment perhaps you can do the test and them organise a reg-cert within the no-cost retest (30 days). You don't want to lose your test fee by not turning up !. K

No point in letting them know that you'll not get cert. I've never been asked and anytime I've been queuing to register at the centre no other person in the queue was asked for the VLC. Everyone was asked for ID.

Cheers. That's what I intend to do.

Hopefully they'll test it, and worst case will be a visual retest for the cert (assuming it passes -:). )
