Im with eir, received the letter of the price increase. Had planned on cancelling and going with a local supplier.
Called eir and was told the charges would be waived, that they would upgrade me to fibre, with speeds of up to 100mb.
Ok, sounds great, they tested my line and said I'm capable of 15mb, an improvement on my current 7mb speed.
After 2 visits, modem and cabels replaced and now a new 12 month contract, I've now been informed that my line is not capable of more than
7mb. Something to do with a non vectored cabinet, and may never have better speeds than 7mb. Im less than 1km from the exchange.
After calls to customer service, apparently there is nothing they can do, I can't be returned to my previous arrangement, a rolling contract, I'm now stuck with a 12 month
Contract for my troubles, and in return I've received.......Nothing!!!!
Sorry for the rant, any ideas\views appreciated

you should have got them to test your line to see if you could get the 100mb before you signed a new contract.

If they mis-sold you a product then you should demand to be released from your contract.
Get a copy of the phone call where you agreed to the new contract and have a listen over it to make sure that they promised speeds of 15mb and not up to 15mb
    Then contact comreg.
