Replacement Boiler for an Apartment

Hi Guys A friends was quoted a couple of grand for a replacement gas boiler for her apartment. She currently has a boiler that's behind the fireplace and it died two weeks ago. What are her options to get it fixed, ideally she would like to get replacement boiler that fits back into the fireplace. Appreciate any help.
