what is this

hi found this worm like thing in a room in the house, it was around 3inches and was brown it had one pointd end which it seamed to move with, it didnt have the same lines on it as a earthworm it was smooth, found a smaller one a couple of months ago, it was under one of the kids toys :eek:
anyone hav any idea if it is a worm r what it is
