Just explain the issue to your gp. It must be a very uncomfortable condition but i'd imagine a gp would know the best thing to deal with it.
    Best of luck

    Hi Klasse,

I had what was called Rosacea and got all sorts for it. However, there was more to it than simply redness. It was like spots that didn't come up. More like acne I suppose. Tried cortisone, Roaccutane and others. Spent a fortune on private specialists - wasting your time trying to get treatment via public route, unbelievable waiting lists.

Earlier this year, I developed a very severe chest infection. I was prescribed a very potent antibiotic and while the chest cold persisted, my face started to clear up. I went back and asked for more antibiotics and my face continued to clear faster than my chest. At the end of the course, my chest was cleared and so was my face.

Unfortunately, the face condition returned within 2 weeks. Went to chemist and asked him what he dispenses most for face acne, he said Doxycycline (spelling???). Went back to doc (who wasn't treating my face) and told him about the happy side effect of the last antibiotic. Asked him to prescribe Doxycycline, which I have now been on for 3 months ( 100mg dose). Face clear and tabs will run out in about a month and I hope that's an end to it. (still get redness if hot, or after alcohol).

BTW, I'm 61 and this first appeared 3 years ago, 45 years late!!

    Nick

Possibility you have a gluten/wheat intolerance. Think this should be tried as a first resort before resorting to cortisone injections.
