Damp - What type of contractor ??

    Morning All
We've had an ongoing damp/mould issue in a bedroom and ensuite. Bedroom upstairs has built-in wardrobes along an external (chimney) wall and there's been a damp smell for a while. En-suite shares the same wall, has extractor fan + Velux, and I've recently cleaned and anti-mould painted the ceiling. Recently got some roof repairs done incl. flashing around the chimney and repairs around the Velux. I couldn't see the problems (obviously) but the roof guy says there were issues and all now OK. There's still a lesser damp-ish smell in the wardrobes so we're washing all (clothes and wardrobe insides) to ensure it's not just residual smell.
If we wanted to be sure that there's no remaining damp issue...probably behind the wardrobes and en-suite vent in attic...do we need just an ordinary builder or are there specific damp contractors we should get ?.
Thanks for any advice...and I'd like to get to the bottom of this and ensure it's no longer an issue.
    K

Could you upload some photos of the rooms and the damp patches? The mould could be due to water penetrating into the building or condensation where the hot (moist) air meets the cold gable wall.

Any idea what insulation you have in the perimeter walls?

Have you considered asking a building surveyor or an architect to look at the issues? Probably cost a few hundred but may save you money in the long term.
