    Hey again everyone.

I have just posted a thread regarding legalities and things regarding purchasing a vehicle and driving it home and things like that. Now the question is referring to the vehicle itself. I would just like to ask you fellow boardsies what you know of the vehicle and if there is anything I should do/look out for when inspecting.

EDIT: Just checked motortax.ie and vehicle has changed ownership just last month. Is this bad news?

Why is the current owner selling it after only 1 month? From looking at the seller's profile on adverts.ie he sold another low mileage Scenic back in August. My guess is that he is a wheeler dealer flipping cheap cars over on the side. The problem with this is the seller probably knows very little about the car they are selling so don't know anything about the car's history. They probably just bought it to sell it on again at a profit.

Renaults of that vintage can suffer from various electrical problems and the mileage is very low for a 10 year old car so make sure your mechanic checks the car over thoroughly before agreeing to buy.

Could you suggest other ads that you think would be ideal for the budget of about 1800? I know the option is very limited and I think it really is down to Renault Scenics. How bad are the electrical problems that exist with these models?

A corolla verso or avensis verso would be a much safer bet.
A well minded 1.6 should fit the bill nicely

Will be hard to find even a rough 06 Verso for under 2k.

This 04 is within budget though:

€1800 budget is all the op said, nothing about year? There's a reason 06 Renaults are cheap.
nothing wrong with going down in years for a better car.

That Scenic would financially cripple you over time. It'd ve a bad deal at €850.

A tow bar on the back of a 1.6 petrol would be a concern, I'd want to know what's been towed weight wise.
