I have a pretty good VHI cover in work , I can get 40 euro off each single dental visit . I was wondering if I purchased extra cover from dentecare could I make even further savings or are you not allowed to have 2 types of cover ?

With all types of insurance, you're not supposed to get paid twice for any expense. This means that if you had a topup dental policy, you would be obliged to inform them that you were being reimbursed to the tune of €40 per visit by the VHI.

Doesn't apply to life assurance, you can take out 10 policies on your life but with medical, fire, motor etc., the terms and conditions will state that you cannot claim from one policy when you have already been reimbursed by a different policy.
