    Hi all,

I'm planning a photography trip out the Kildare line way most likely this weekend. I'd like to know if anyone has info, on the schedule of anything unusual that runs out of Heuston etc during the weekend (Saturday being of the most interest).

By that I mean things like freight trains of any description, permanent way, those Belmont Hibernian thingies, anyone know if any of that runs over the weekend?

    Thanks in advance.

There is engineering work on between Sallins and Newbridge on Saturday so you should see per way machines there, Down IWT shoud pass Kildare about 11:00 and the up at about 12:50, also a steel through Kildare about 14:00. Belmond is due at Heuston about 9:00 (from Roscommon) so depends how early you are out and about.

Thanks for the info ... guess I should have checked the weather as well (spoiler, I went to Stacumny Bridge, but the wind and rain kept me from doing anything especially with an expensive/non-waterproof camera :o)

I assume the IWTs run to a specific timetable, e.g. they run at similar timetables every Saturday.

The Belmonds according to their website, all leave Heuston for Belfast for the remaining Saturdays of this month (they won't be running during the winter), but they say that their departure is "early afternoon" and you should check your ticket to get exact times. Is there generally an indication of what "early afternoon" means and how do they get from Heuston to the Northern Line?

I believe it leave Heuston about 12:40 and Connolly about 13:45, The route is
    Heuston
    Islandbridge Junction (reverse)
    Phoenix Park Tunnel
    Connolly (reverse)
    Belfast
