Basically he had a f*ck tonne of childer. Any wall street mogul, business power house leader or woman in office wearing thick frame glasses is a descendant sharing his dominant genes.

It's basically like saying if only Michael Collins had produced 100's of offspring then 63% of the Irish wouldn't be docile weaklings bending over to the concept of an EU.

However I do wonder. What if a male. Let's call him Anto, decided he would produce as many off spring as he could in his life time. What would we as a society do? His children are supported by the state. Do we incarcerate this fictional character after his 500th child. Do we neuter him after his 750th?? Dear God Anto please stop! But Anto doesn't care he keeps going...what do we do. Just allow him to continue fecklessly producing offspring?

But, all the children's allowance they'd generate would create another boom in the economy... Might be the black market economy but a boom is a boom...

    But did you know Anto?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Who says his genes are dominant? They might be present in a lot of people, but they could easily be recessive. And going back that many generations, his would be only a small part, even if people with Genghis-genes got together in later generations. Very diluted.

And what was so great about that traitor Collins? I'll give him a Treaty!! (Whatever that means...)

By the way, I'm currently working on a hypothetical drug that will render all of Anto's progeny infertile. The only question is: airborne or ingested?

I remember listening to a historian on the radio speaking about Neil Of the Nine Hostages.
I can't recall the percentage of Irish people that he reckoned could be traced back but it was amazing ( if true)

On 22nd May 1999 I put £20 on a four horse win accumulator at The Curragh.
The first three won at 4/9, 14/1, 12/1. The next up was the 5/2 favourite Genghis Khan in the 17:20. Possible payout £19,716 (€25,040).

He was knackered after all his invading and stuff and finished 4th.
