Steroids, constantly hungry

I'm waiting to see a rheumatologist as my GP thinks I have some form of arthritis. In the meantime he's put me on steroids. They have dramatically decreased my pain but I'm constantly starving! So far I've been on them about a month and put up nearly a stone. Any suggestions for getting the hunger under control?
