I thought this new system of online Garda Vetting meant you'd do it once off and that covered everything?

I've had to do it twice since the new system came in, once for college and once for a job I'm starting.

Did you expect that you would authorise it once and then they'd just hand your results to anyone who asked? I'm honestly confused.

My understanding was that you completed your Garda Vetting once with the new system, and that any employer who needed you vetted could access this information with your consent.

To the best of my knowledge the new system is about making the process faster.

You still need to be vetted every time you start a new job where you will be working with young or vulnerable people. I just completed my 5 vetting form this year.

I assumed it would be updated by the vetting bureau or something like that.

    Anyway, I misunderstood.
