Patreon Funding for a Podcast

    Hi Folks, was setting up a patreon (crowd-funding page) last night for my podcast. I'm not familiar with the tax situation involved with patreon, so I'm asking would anyone here have experience with Patreon or would they recommend another crowd-funding site that would best suit funding a podcast.
    Btw the funding will help buy some recording equipment of my own, can't be using someone else's forever.
