Limitations of recording on a Humax 1000S Freesat Box?

I have a couple of Humax 1000S Freesat boxes and am very happy with them. Unfortunately the limitation of only being able to record one channel while watching another has become a real pain.

I understand this is because there are only 2 tuners in the freesat box. I know I could go off and purchase an Enigma2 box to get around this but the technical setup required does not interest me at all and I couldn't be arsed to be honest :)

Is there any chance that Humax will launch a freesat box that would allow multiple playback and recording of channels such as SkyQ or Virgin Media or is the only solution to go the Linux enigma2 route?

Unless you have a receiver which can accept a wideband LNB, such as Sky Q, you will be restricted somewhat in the amount of tuners you can use. A Linux box with two inputs will still be restricted to channels on the same polarity/band.

So it seems I'll have to live with this limitation for now until a freesat receiver is available which can accept a wideband LNB, thanks for the info Karsini. I won't hold my breath:rolleyes:
