I hear there are over 4 million of these commemorative coins been struck...

Is there any change that they will have a higher value in 10-20 years time?

The millennium punt has been sold online for neary 25€ in some cases

    No.

Is this the Millennium coin you mean?

Massed produced coins - better off going to Paddy Power for a return on your money.

The only millennium punts selling for those prices and upwards are the limited edition solid silver proofs. The normal ones are barely worth above face value. Also back then it was much more difficult to get mint bags of those coins, where now dealers can order them. These 2016's that have so much as a fingerprint on them are not worth holding on to, they won't even keep up with inflation, so it's pointless putting them aside when you find them in your change. As a matter of fact, the normal 2 Euro coins in UNC are worth more than the commemoratives and the same situation applies to older Irish coins as everyone kept the commemoratives aside so there's buckets of them around, but people didn't keep the normal coins so they're worth more! If you get bags of them in mint uncirculated they'll increase somewhat, but I expect that even UNC ones will only be worth around 3 Euro in 10 years time. You'd be much better off buying some of the proof 2 Euro 2016 coins in the Central Bank for 15 Euro each, when they eventually sell out you'll easy make some money on them.
