    Hi all,
My mother has a Doberman who had a cancerous lump over her eye: a young vet operated and sent the dog home with an open wound and very bad repair job. The eye got infected and the dog is now badly damaged. The photos are horrendous. See sample attached

A complaint was lodged to the vet council but they have ruled in favour of the vet. Knowing all the facts this is hard to understand . This vet is not for practice

She is seeking the 2nd opinion of another vet and some support on how to proceed?

Any advice or vets out there who can help?

    Based in co Kildare /Offaly

    Hi Steroo,
Very sorry to hear about your mother's dog.
As we're not permitted to give legal advice here, nor veterinary advice, I think all we can do is advise that you ring around another couple of vets, as it is your absolute right to seek a 2nd opinion, but also consider seeking structured legal advice from a solicitor.
I know a good legal firm with experience of dealing with dog-related cases, if you'd like their details, send me a pm.
Apologies as I understand how upset you are about this case, but I'm afraid this thread can't remain live due to the nature of this being a live case for which you're seeking a level of information we're just not allowed give.
    All the best,
    DBB
