    Yes, also put "equivalent to <<blah>>" on there. Don't give any excuses for them to bypass him (eg "don't know what that means").

    No experience but I'd say depends on the company his applying for, if its an American one or one that at least operates internationally I'd leave it as it as. If its an Irish firm I'd probably do the Irish equivalent. May be also worthwhile getting it officially verified by QQI . Although depending on what stage in his career it might not matter as much.
