So my house is on the map for ftth.

According to eirs website, my local exchange is now fiber activated (Or whatever the term is)

My only question now is..... how long do I Have to wait till they run fiber my house.

    Any ideas?

Is it done by eircom or a private contractor ?
Is it part of a national strategy that is on hold?

    Questions questions and no speed

Is your home in one of the areas listed for the phase one rollout?

    http://www.openeir.ie/news/First-rural-FTTH-locations-announced/

If so check our tracker for a proposed live date.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zx94jb-PxH3UHE5zWEVKAOE6pzGUUSG2C2ILY1P6yOo/edit?usp=sharing

The work is being done by a mix of Openeir and KN Networks.

It is not part of the national strategy, the NBP, however Openeir are one of three bidders for two lots that will cover the country. The winner(s) of that process are due to be announced in June 2017.

Just to clarify - The project is to kick off in Summer 2017 - the winners should be announced either late this year or early next.

You will most likely come under the aforementioned NBP. As ItHurtsWhenIP says it is hoped that it will begin in Summer 2017.

This all refers to FTTH though. You said your exchange is fibre enabled. Are you outside the range for FTTC (~1KM from the exchange)?

Navi, you can update your spreadsheet for Allenwood South in Co. Kildare. Trees are cut, poles are up, blue fibre three way protective ducting is in underground, Fibre run through the ducting to the poles with coils hanging down and passive optical splitter boxes installed on new poles.

Both KNN and Eir are back today to do more work. I was told by a friend that even with everything in place they still have to wait two months to enable the FTTH.

they still have to wait two months to enable the FTTH.

It should only be a month, but its a regulatory restriction on RAPs.

Yeah as long_b says anyone can edit if they see work taking place. Also the spreadsheet was his idea, I just helped to add data to it.

They will now join the 757,000 rural homes and businesses earmarked for the taxpayer-funded scheme.
The rural rollout is due to start in the summer of 2017 and is expected to take up to five years to complete.

Oh good, that means i'll probably connected in 8 to 10 years at the earliest

On the bright side Openeir, one of the bidders, claim they could do it in three years.

What are you trying to change? The counties and exchange areas are locked so cannot be edited. You should be able to change dates or details about work being done.
