Two of my watches a Tissot and a Longines both quartz need the battery replaced. Where would you recommend I go ? The Tissot was a present from my late father and I want to make sure I get the correct battery

    Thanks....

Is either of them a diver? If not I'd open it myself and buy a battery either on-line or in a jewellers and pop it in myself.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

No they are not divers, but the Longines is rated to 300 meters, not that I will ever go 6ft

I'm not sure if Hour Passion (Longines) in Kildare village do any servicing/repairs but you could try ringing them for a battery.

Any mickey mouse dealer can replace the batteries for a few euro.
But if you want a water proof guarantee then best bet is do go to an authorised dealer for Tissot & Longines. Expect to pay big bucks though.

Also, although some ADs may do this for you while you wait, most will have to send the watches away and it can take a few weeks to get them back.

The Fast Fix places in Tallaght/SSG/Dundrum can do battery replacement with reseal and pressure test with a 1 yr guarantee of the water resistance. They tend to get mixed reviews on here but I've used the one in Dundrum a couple of times without issue.

Yeah, I've used the Stephens Green shop several times and obviously was happy enough (given I returned!). That included two quartz watches that cost over 2K that I got pressure tested. The batteries they replaced for me were guaranteed for five years too which was good, have had one replaced under that with no problems.

Think it was 30 euros with the pressure test but can't remember for sure. That ballpark anyhow.

€30 is what I remember too. I think they also offered the option of an extended 5yr warranty for an extra tenner.
