    Is it possible to pick these up on the west coast of ireland?
    Looking specifically for Globo TV channels

    I've got 30W easily enough. Although Globo channels appear encrypted according to kingofsat on that Sat.

    40.5W is a C-Band sat. You won't get this on a Ku LNB. You'd need a special round dish with a central focal point (plus correct LNB) like this http://www.satellites-gallore.com/images/solid_promo1.jpg. Besides Globo is probably broadcast on the West Hemi over S. America and not the East Hemi (Europe) anyhow.

    Cheers for getting back to me. Thanks for the info I didnt know if you needed something special for that, so that would really run up the cost to bring in 40.5w and even at that the signal would be poor.

    30.0W looks to be the best option, according to kingofsat Globo is on 9.0E as well, but I think 30.0w would have more content for her anyway Portuguese FTA will do as well.
