Detailers Assistance Required!

So I brushed against a pillar last night (I haven't even started beating myself up about it). I've a smallish dent on the driver side door. The dent can be repaired but I'm wondering whether the damage to the paintwork can be sorted without a respray.

I've attached images below. I know it's not going to look perfect without a respray but I wonder how much of it would buff out?

To that end I'm wondering whether any of the detailers here in Dublin would have a few free minutes today to use a machine polisher on it? Obviously I'd pay for it.

If you bring it to a crash repair Center they would have a go at it too. It would definitely improve it and make it less noticeable.

Inner panel off to push out the dent. Doesn't look too bad in fairness. The polishers will be along shortly. You could get lucky with that one. I think it's about time you started beating yourself up now ;)

Think I might get lucky - it's not going to be perfect but hopefully a touch up pen might do the trick after a bit of a polishing

    Any thoughts?

Bring it to Shane in Carcraft and he'll sort out for you, very reasonable prices also.

It's a brand new BMW 430d. I'd want it to be done properly myself rather someone "having a go" :p

Shane, are you anywhere near Elite Auto Clean? I'd be bringing it to them to use a polishing machine on before getting it sprayed. You'd be surprised at how much of a difference that could make.

Yes, I'm actually dropping it out to Elite Auto Clean to get them to machine polish it. I was out with Ian and he thinks that 95% of it will come out anyway and I may be lucky and get the whole thing out.

Any crash repair center or panel beater would be well able to do that. If they weren't successful they could respray it. Looking at the photos it doesn't look too bad. I would probably have a go at it myself. In fairness the OP was only wanting to get someone to put a few minutes into it in the first place.

    Did you get sorted?

Id go and get the dent sorted first and then look at polishing it!

Why do you have a similar one needing attention on yours?? :pac:

Yes, got Ian to do it last Friday. The paint work is about 95% clean - there is a small mark on the paintwork but it looks like a small stone chip now.

I still need to get the dent removed. The guy I was getting to do it let me down.
