Just trying to sort out registering our intent of marriage on the HSE website, we are having a humanist ceremony which is a secular non religious however the HSE website is really confusing.

When we go here - http://www.hse.ie/eng/services/list/1/bdm/crsappointment/

    it states:
Once you access the appointment system to make your booking you will be presented with 3 options, please ensure you select the correct one:

Religious or Secular Marriages only - this applies to all religious/church/secular marriage ceremonies
Civil Marriage Ceremony - this applies to all civil marriages, i.e. non-religious

Do we pick the first option here? When we do and fill out the online forms for this selection further on in the process it states "Notification Type: Notice of Religious Marriage Appointment" which seems like it is incorrect?

Has anyone done this recently and can confirm the correct options to select?

If you are going for humanist you pick secular/religious. It is confusing but Civil is only for civil ceremonies.

I had humanist ceremony and you pick secular/religious.

Basically, "civil" is for marriages celebrated before the registrar, and "religious/secular" is for all other marriage celebrations.
