Usual wedding dilemma

I've got the dress, I've got the shoes - what else do I need.
It's my niece's wedding and I don't know if I'd have the confidence to wear a hat. I'm only 5ft and I think it might be overkill. The dress is 'busier' than what I'd normally wear.
    Suggestions welcome please.

You've enough detail between the dress and the shoes without adding a hat - anyway, if you don't feel confident in a hat you're better off without one! All you need is a cardi or jacket, coordinating clutch and some simple jewelry. You could pick up one of the bright colours in the skirt of the dress or just go for a white or navy for your cover up. It's a lovely dress!

    I agree. Don't wear a hat. Don't even consider a "Fascinator"!

Have a nice, groomed hairstyle, though -- not just an "everyday" one but maybe a braid or "up" - whatever fits best - just to "finish" your look.

I agree, lovely dress and shoes - you'll shine!

Thanks ladies, much appreciate the feedback. I've an appointment for hair and makeup that morning, so no hat or dead budgie feathers stuck on my head !
The shoes are navy so I'll pick up a purple/lilac clutch. Never thought of a cardi but it's a great idea so I'll definitely get one.
Now to sort out something for day 2 - these 2 days events take SO much planning !!

Yep, I agree, hats/fascinators are totally unnecessary - they actually look very dated in most cases IMO.

You likely need something to keep you warm, be that a jacket or a wrap, and then a simple clutch.
