    Hi all

Trying to book flights and accom instead of going through travel agent.

Can anyone recommend any self catering apts? Looking and places and reviews but it's hard to believe them. Some great places on airbnb but also sceptical about these

    Thanks x

Do you want to be slap bang in the middle of the resort or somewhere quieter on the outskirts? What kind of standard are you looking for, something cheap and cheerful to put your head down for the night or a bit of comfort?

+1 they also have an apartment block beside the hotel which are self-catering.

The bungalows are pretty plain - two bedrooms with twin beds, small kitchen and inside seating/TV area with a deck area outside and a few worn-out loungers.

People renting the bungalows and the apartments have access to the private area behind the hotel where there's swimming pools and a private stretch of beach.

I stayed in Riviera Park. Booked privately, nice big apartments and beside the Strip. Stayed in the Fariones also, location wise, they are in a better spot beside the old town. Better restaurants that end in my opinion. The apartments are more basic but depends what you're after.

Stayed in a few places there.

Arena Dorada was a good spot. Clean and right in the centre of town. Decent pool...

Stayed in the apartments which are only a short distance from the hotel and found them very good. Would stay there again.

I have stayed in the costa volcan appartments for many years. Beside the old town, close to the beach, off the main strip. Highly recommend it.
