Anyone know if vat or customs duty is payable when importing children's shoes from outside EU?

Certain values it is, roughly €25 I think is the amount where you could be charged.

Yeah €22. I thought children's shoes and clothes were exempt from vat but wasn't sure if this was only for personal use?

You only pay duty if the childrens shoes are value in excess of €150 and there is no VAT to pay .
