Gardai are investigating an attempted shooting of a man outside a swimming pool in Tuam, Co Galway.

The balcalava clad gunman failed to fire any shots outside a swimming centre, it has been reported.

The incident happened this morning at around 11am outside Tuam swimming pool.

The man was leaving the facility when he was approached by an individual wearing a balaclava and holding a firearm.

It is crazy to think how brazen the attempted hit was. Doubtful that it was a traveler feud, because you can be almost guaranteed that they wouldn't wear balaclavas. Thankfully the gun jammed, because there was school children swimming very close to where it happened and there could have very easily been a stray bullet.

Waving a gun around in broad daylight with kids in the area. They really do not give a flying feck.
Too easy for them to get away with it too. Not enough gardai around and they know they would need to be pretty unlucky to get caught.

Why wouldn't travelers wear a balaclava?, even if it were an imitation gun just to scare the other fella he'd still be looking at a few year.

The incident is understood to be connected to an ongoing family feud in the area.

    From The Tribune.

A TRAVELLER involved in a family feud in Tuam, which has led to a price being put on his head, has said it is only a matter of time before someone is killed following a gun attack at his home last week.

Of course it was travellers, Pavee Point, Martin Colllins and Vincent Browne are very quiet when things like this happen, strange one that.

You hinting that they may have had (in their tiny little heads) "justification" for smashing the place up?

Travelers are ok as people, they mainly fight among themselves and don't bother anybody, there are of course a few fcukers, but they are everywhere, where I live there are feuding traveler family's, but they fight and pipebomb each other, smash each others cars up, but both sides are very respectful when talking to anybody not involved, and helpful, as much as they can.

They are what they are, mostly they inherited a feud, they can't be seen to be a coward and continue the feud, although I know a lot of them that would rather not be involved, they just want to live and let live, then somebody from the other side (both sides) provokes something, then it's round 2030
