I think the people of this country should come together and refuse to pay the extortionate rates the insurance company's are looking for no one wants driving without it but it's crazy the cheapest quote my son got was 5000 and I was quoted 720 for commercial vehicle worth 1500 with a clean licence and full bonus their seems to be no one regulating these company's no one asking to see their profits and a government that cares less

What age is your son, what licence,NCB and experience does he have and what was the car?

People seem to forget how expensive it was in the 90s for young drivers to get on the road, taking inflation into account then its still on average cheaper than it was back then.

Plus most insurers don't want young drivers.

There are specialist companies like Boxymo that offer very good rates for first time drivers.

My son is only a provisional driver and I know that makes him a liability but no one should be condemned before they even start and seriously 5000 is a ridiculous price ,I was one of those young drivers back in the 80s when PMPA went bust but I'm being penalising today even with 36 years clean driving
