Another action packed saturday. Newbury has a lot of non runners but rest of the cards are holding up.

Anyone having a crack at the Ayr Silver & Gold Cups?

Aside from Ayr & Newbury, Newmarket, Catterick & Listowel with an evening card in Wolverhampton.

I see Frankie D has just the one ride at Newbury.

I've had a small bet at 10s on Drumfad Bay in the 14:00 Ayr, Firth Of Clyde Stakes, Group 3, 2yo fillies.

    Stormy Clouds 10-1
    Rosie Bride 14-1
    2.00 Ayr

    I like both of these.

1pt win on both at 10-1 and 14-1

What's wrong with Ryan Moore? That last ride just looked completely unlike him.

Moore was relaxed in the parade ring before the race so maybe Dartmoth was not expected to win today. Didn't see anything wrong with the ride myself

Nothing wrong with the ride at all.

It's not just that ride, there's been a whole string of rides in the last few weeks that haven't been up to his usual standard. I can't help but think he's carrying an injury.

3:10 Ayr - Highland Colori about as popular as a venereal disease in the betting this morning, but worth a small e/w punt. Has run three times before in Ayr, winning once, beaten into second by a head another time, so should take to the track and will appreciate the good to soft going. Has shown only snatches of form in the last few races, so undoubtedly competitive at this sort of mark, has a good each way chance I think at 16/1.

    3.45 Ayr

    Brando 16-1 1pt win

    Hillbilly boy 40-1 1pt ew 5 places

    Hoof it 20-1 1pt ew 5 places

    Rivellino 40-1 1pt ew 40-1 5 places

Revellino is my no1 choice. I think it can run a good race at big price.

I've also backed Hillbilly Boy €20 at 67.5s
You can't beat a high price loser. :(

Thanks for pointing it out. Unfortunately no. I did see the result earlier.
It looks like William Haggas found a nice race for him. The horse probably needs soft ground and might be better when he matures a bit. A Cup horse?

I wouldn't write him off as a plodder even though the Montjeu in him gives him plenty of stamina. That was only his fourth run and he's still never been past 10f by September of his 3yo career. That's not the record of a Cup horse, at least not for another while anyway. He should improve again as a 4yo and pick off a few more 10-13f races when there's a bit of juice in the ground. He's in a stable that'll treat him with a bit more respect than to just lazily fire him up in distance because he's a Montjeu.
