Payment not in bank account

I was expecting my JA payment to be in my bank account at some point last night, but it's not - can anyone help me out?
I was on JA, collecting in the post office every week, then I got a part-time job. Got the x's and o's forms and was told that I wouldn't get payment the following week, but the week after that and I'd get back paid. It wasn't until I dropped in my x and o form a few days later that I was told that payment would be made into my bank account, and to bring in my bank details asap. I did that the following monday. I then asked when payment was usually put into accounts by - the previous person told me payments were put out on fridays - so I wanted confirmation. The woman said she didn't know but it depended on how fast I had my second x and o form in by. My employer signed it that same day, so I dropped it back a couple of hours later.
So it'll be two weeks on monday since I've received money from them - not like I've got rent or bills to pay, or food to buy or anything  Surely a set time or day from them isn't too hard? I had been told payments were put out on fridays, so surely it should have been in my account last night. Such unnecessary stress

Thanks eastbono - I rang them and there's a backlog so it'll be about another week before I get money

Can I ask if you have a casual claim? It's just I'd love to know how s.w will work out how much money I'll get each week, considering my hours change. I know my employer put down how much I earned when they filled out a sheet for s.w, but I'd only been there a week and it was the most hours I've had. I've had less since, so I'm praying they don't work it off that one payment amount.

I dont have a casual claim. Your means will be assessed on daily means i.e. for every day you work x amount will be deducted from your payment. If you work more than 3 days you get nothing. When you get your means result in the post and if your not happy with it you can appeal it on the grounds that your not working the amount of hours you were on your first payslip.
