Hi When a builder is building a chimney with liners can they pour the vermiculite in out of the bag or does it have to be mixed with cement

    Cheers

It can be used on it's own or mixed with cement, if it's being mixed it is recommended at 6:1 mix (6V:1C).

Is there any advantage mixing it .

    Hi
This is just a general question

    Thanks

I poured the vermiculite straight in my chimney around the flue liner when Stove was installed. Flue liner was only guaranteed for ~10years so at least with loose beads i can replace the liner in the future if required

Depends on the circumstances, the location of the chimney, the amount of time the stove will be lit, etc., A mute point in your case as there isn't an actual installation.
