Make Me An Egghead

Anyone watching this? Some real clever-clogs, but what is amazing me how often the current Eggheads are unable to answer questions! Kevin, especially has hardly gotten one question right!

Could it be they don't like the contestants and are trying to influence the outcome?

Though in seriousness I think the contestants are picking the wrong questions to put to the eggheads.

So Steve Cooke and Beth Webster are the new Eggheads.

I still think the show's getting tired, though. It's been going for 13 years, and it's probably done just about everything it can do. It's unlikely that the jackpot will go as high as £75k again, while it's happened more often than not that the final round has seen a single Challenger beat all five Eggheads - and a single Egghead beat all five Challengers, too.

What's more, Make Me An Egghead was little more than a re-hash of Are You An Egghead?, which ran for two series in 2008 and 2009 - Barry winning the first series and Pat the second.

And while Jeremy Vine is a good host (although I prefer Dermot Murnaghan), and the Eggheads are capable of displaying a sense of humour (especially Lisa), they're just not as fun as Bradley, Shaun, Mark, Anne, Paul and Jenny, are they? :o;)

(That said, all five Chasers did take part on AYAE?, with Shaun finishing runner-up to Barry in the first series.)

But, of course, the show still pulls in the casual viewers, which is what all TV executives are after these days. And as long as it continues to do that - and it'll probably pull in even more of them now following the dramatic news regarding CJ - then it'll remain on the air.

Much prefer Eggheads to The Chase.

I watched it and found Steve's behaviour on it very weird.. Always talking himself down before getting the question correct.. Not to sound like a bo**ox but it came across like be had some behavioral issues.. He's seriously intelligent though
