My squad goals would be for them not to be getting married

I don't think its hyperbolic to suggest that anyone who uses the phrase 'squad goals' in seriousness should be put to death.

This sentence makes no sense in a lot of different ways.

In seriousness though, I'm 26 and don't have a clue what half the slang kids these days use means.

When did "fam" become a word?

    I'm getting old, aren't I?

It's all the cool stuff from hip hop radio. In fact, a generation or two before me would have said 'what's this 'cool' they're on about'.

If they could sort out a club transfer for me in time I might consider lining out on Sunday if the head isn't too fuzzy.

You know when you go down town with the lads and you all realize you’re hank marvin’ so you say “lads let’s go Maccers” but your mate Smithy a.k.a. The Bantersaurus Rex has some mula left on his nandos gift card and he’s like “mate let’s a have a cheeky nandos on me” and you go “Smithy my son you’re an absolute ledge” so you go have an extra cheeky nandos with a side order of Top Quality Banter and a bit of a dabbing to go. That's when your squad goals are on point and you feel fleeky as f*ck, fam.

I have not known a single person who said that phrase and wasn't a 100% BELL END.

Granted, I'm not too familiar with these sort of phrases, but I'm fairly sure that it doesn't refer to a group of young women.

Damn annoying phrase for sure. Another is all this damn 'smh' crap I keep seeing in the YouTube comments and elsewhere.

I'd love to kick someone's door in right as they are typing that shit and then blowing their head off if they weren't actually shaking it.

If they were.... then obviously I'd apologize for the damage to the door.

The group that spawned it - Taylor Swift and her acolytes; you just know well that there is rampant bitching within the group. :D And some of them probably barely know each other!

I'm 32 and I've been saying that word for years. :o Short for family though, maybe people use it differently now?

You're annoyed by a phrase you heard but don't understand.
Not to be too confronting but thats a bit dumb.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,184 ✭✭✭riclad

IN Recent years i,ve seen it on the web,
for example taylor swift and her female friends .squad goals etc
I know it could refer to a group of soldiers or people who are in combat together.
or a group of workers .

Sounds like something a rugby team would be discussing. I couldn't even be in the same room as someone that speaks like that.
