    Hi all,

Just a little thing that Aptus does not tell you until they install your broad band and it doesnt state in it the terms and conditions anywhere.

    1. You HAVE TO rent THEIR router for €2 a month. You are not allowed to just user your own.
    2. You are not allowed to have the admin user name and password to the router.
    3. You have to use the SSID password they give you and are not allowed to have it changed or removed.

€2 doesnt seem much but when you have just bought a new router which is better than theirs its a bit of a con.

Yeah it’s a bit crap but I don’t really care because they are the only ISP that can give me 10mb download speeds consistently. Had them over a year and only one had one day of downtime.

I just had Aptus installed last week. On the 20mb package and typically getting 18/19mb d/l with very low (<20ms) ping. Can't complain in that regards! However their wireless router range is rubbish. I was going to replace it all together but looks like I can't according to this. Has anyone had any success in enabling bridge mode on the Aptus supplied router?

The range is rubbish. Very little signal once you're in the next room nevermind the other end of the house!

I'm able to access some sites but not others and someone suggested I reset my router but I can't due to what op says (Admin info) . Any ideas how I do this or do I need to wait til tomorrow to call tomorrow? Problem occurred on Saturday night and they don't have 24/7 support.

Careful resetting it, could wipe out their config completely taking you offline. There will be a pinhole or button to reset though.

Running "tracert [sitethatdoesntwork.com]" from command line may hint as to where the problem lies.
