You need to get a bus (61) from Bratislava airport to the train station and from there to Vienna. It takes a little less than half an hour depending on traffic and goes every 20 mins or so. Cost is €1.60 I think, for a person with a suitcase. Train to Vienna usually goes then every hour or two hours in the evening.

Or you can take the private buses directly from Brat airport to Vienna, but they are a bit less frequent and I am not sure of the price

Unless you are in a hurry, this is the way to do it.

This site is great. The option for English is about half way down the page.

Just put in your date and time of travel and it will let you know all the options.

Shows me a few buses direct from the Airport to Vienna which is probe the best option. Tickets can be bought online also. I would recommend a few hors in Bratislava though if you have time.

When taking the bus from the airport to train station/ bus station. Get a ticket and make sure you validate it on the bus. Just slips into the machines all along the bus. Don't bend it. It's a bugger to get working if bent!
A taxi isn't too dear between the two . Think my mother in law paid about €20 last week.
