I am currently on JSA and am shortly being gifted the house in which I live. I want to movbe out of it as soon as I can, and am considering the options and their implications for JSA.

Option 1: Sell the property and buy another in my preferred location. It would be a bonus if it had potential for a home based business (I have a few ideas), in which case I would not have to worry about the JSA. It would be just about doable based on the current value of the house. However, there is a good chance that the house could rise further in value due to its location.

Option 2: Hold onto the house and rent it out, while renting something myself in my preferred location.
This is where I am wondering about implications for JSA. Most of the rent I would make would most likely be straight back out to another landlord. I know that if someone owns a second property and rents it out, the income isn't taken into account but the value of the property is. Does it work the same in this sort of situation?
