Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    I've just started an engineering course in DIT and have realized I'm not totally sure its what I want to do. Everyone said I'd be great at engineering and I did like it in secondary but because of this I never looked around at other possible courses. I don't know whether to take a year out, get some work and experience in different fields. I feel like I need the time to be happy on course choice.

    Has anyone got any thoughts or experience on a year out??
