My friend is building a pc for gaming and music production. We are stuck on what Gcard to get. He will want it to play Elite Dangerous max graphics mostly.

He can afford up to 200 but lower the better. Some links to online shops would be great too.

RX 470, or for e226 on Mindfactory you could get a 480 (4gb).

GTX970 or RX470, both around the €200 mark and pretty similar, though the 470 is much newer, will likely improve with time and has superior DX12 performance which may make a difference down the line if you plan hanging onto the card for a while. Sub 200 the value drops off sharply, with cards around the €150 mark lagging way behind in performance.

Long term would be worth your buck if you got the 480 tbh.

We Euro users royally got screwed on the 480's price and in that 270-300 quid mark, the 1060 offers better performance in my opinion.
