Button phone for person with disability

    Hi,

My uncle has a mental disability and currently uses a Nokia 515 as his phone.

He's seen people get new phones recently and decided he wants a new phone. He had his eyes on an iPhone but the touchscreen-only phone just wouldn't work for him. We got him one before and he struggled to use it. Also, he uses the phone a lot so the battery wouldn't suffice.

The main thing he keeps asking for is a bigger screen. He's quite good with using the phone and picks up basic technology fairly well. His primary use for the phone is:

    - Calls (naturally)
    - Texts
    - Camera (this is very important! He likes to print photos)

He has zero need for any Smartphone feature.

So I'm asking for help - I've looked and can not find anything suitable, anything that wouldn't be worse than what he currently has.

Before the Nokia 515, he had a Nokia C2 and that worked well too, with the touchscreen on top.

It doesn't have to be Nokia, but would be preferable. Any price range considered, so long as it suits. Buying second hand isn't a problem. It doesn't have to be a new phone.

If anyone can help I'd be HUGELY appreciative. It's difficult to find phones for him, more-so when the majority are touchscreens. There seems to be two brackets - full feature and 'dumb phones'. Annoyingly, his use case would be in between the two.

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: Just to point out, we've looked at the Doro phones but the cameras wouldn't suffice. He likes to print his photos so we're looking for something at least matching the 5MP on his current Nokia 515.

Go to assist Ireland website . Type in mobiles. They specialise in phones like that with larger screens and buttons

Worked for a mobile provider until very recently, and this was very popular with the older generation:

Basic camera and USB connectivity, but none of 'yer nonsense. Available with all 3 big providers I believe.

I think a lot of post offices sell more basic phones, might be worth a look.

Also doro specializes with phones etc for older or people with disabilities.

If it's just for checking up on him, perhaps a Ye olde world CB tpye radio?
Even big buttons are loaded with an array of menus and auto-locks.

Set the pair to a sub frequency, then it's just press & talk, ideally at a set time(s) each day.
Believe the chat is something like "breaker breaker, 10-4" for all is well.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. We have looked at the Doro phones before but the camera wouldn't be near good enough.

The camera in his current phone is 5MP and he often wants to print his pictures, so unfortunately the Doro's camera wouldn't suffice.

Nah, it'd be a phone we'd need. More so for himself rather than anyone checking up on him.
