Eir Sport announced earlier this month that Dundalk's groups stage fixtures will be shown on FTA on Eir/Setanta Sport. Does this mean I can tune in Eir Sport on my satellite box using the codes and watch the games?

    Taken from your link.
“We have followed Dundalk with great pleasure as they progressed through the qualification stages and we are delighted to be able to confirm that we will be showing all six of their group games free-to-view on eir, Sky and Vodafone,” Brian Quinn Operations Director of eir Sport commented.

It wont be Free to air because Uefa dont want viewers outside the Republic of Ireland watching the game.

Eir dont seem to know the difference between FTV and FTA.

If you are an Eir customer you have all these channels available online. Infact if you are an Eir customer and you have a Sky box even if unsubscribed you get these channels free and BT.

They won't be FTA. They'll be FTV, i.e you will have to have a Sky Digibox and a viewing card with an active ROI Sky subscription of some sort.

Surely an Irish viewing card with a cancelled Sky subscription will allow you to see the FTV content?

Yes this will work. No need to be an active subscriber to sky. Its Free to View.

I have a Sky Digibox and subscription in a room I normally don't watch TV in, I had a look at Eir sport and it says "freeview" from around 5:00 to 11:00 or thereabouts.

That's what it should say when it a programme is scheduled to go FTV

Watched match here in NI on Eir Sports 1 and it was FTV. Well done Eir Sports.
