    Hey,

This is probably in the wrong area, but I'm looking for some help 😊

I'm looking for an acoustic guitar for my boyfriend, he's inexperienced so it would be a basic first time guitar,

I've tried to have a look online but there is so many options and I've no clue, does anyone have any reccomendations or could link me to websites that would be amaze 😊

    Thanks so much

Before the AH answers, you might have more luck in Music -> Instruments: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=125

I recommend not taking it out at a party. You would ruin a grand evening for a lot of good people. Dont be that person.

Any of the ones made by the manufacturer "Air"

Cheaper and won't piss off the neighbours.

    He'll appreciate it in time.

Anything that plays Wonderwall, that's the most important thing.

Pretend to be all coy when it's brought out at house parties.

Similar rules as for his knob:

Don't take it out in public
Don't play with it within hearing range of other people
Don't let kids play with it
Even if he's having a great time playing it, doesn't mean everyone else is enjoying it to the same extent
There are lots of helpful videos that you can watch online while you are learning to play it.

If he is younger than 21 he will probably want a black electric guitar instead.

With a thunder bolt painted on it.

Serious answer - any entry level steel string guitar from a reputable brand name.

    https://www.thomann.de/ie/fender_squier_sa105ce_bk_bundle.htm

Much like one's first car, he will bang it and scratch it and make a balls of restringing it, so avoid going too expensive. When he's more experienced then he can look at spending €500+ on one.

As said above, avoid the temptation of stupidly cheap ones. They sound crap and won't stay in tune.

If you buy cheap it will sound cheap. Couple this with a beginner's skill and he'll end sounding like a bag of cats and will get disheartened and give up.

Always get your car professionally restrung.

The Washburn WD 10SCE is an excellent beginner guitar. As a solid top it's relatively inexpensive and should age well. I have one that I use for travelling and I really enjoy it.

You can get an electric starter pack from Music Maker for about 150. It's a Fender/Squire Stratocaster with a little amp, strings etc.
