Crossed out entries on Census

    I'm sure I knew this before at some stage but can't remember why certain entries on a census form are crossed out. For instance the length of marriage, children born alive, and children still living. Why would these figures be crossed out?

    If they were filled in by people like men or widows, they only wanted it from married women.

    The figures are for a woman though and that's why I wondered about it. Sorry, I should have clarified that.
