Poor Saorview Signal

During bad weather I'm losing my saorview signal. I have a Samsung TV with built in saorview and Freeview tuners.
If the weather is fine I can get all channels, no problems. But when the weather is poor, then RTE1 goes first and if it's really miserable, all of the other Saorview channels are gone too. Once the bad weather passes, everything goes back to normal.
I'm living in Carrigaline in Cork, has anyone else experienced this?
    Any thoughts/recommendations??

Probably need a better aerial or repositioning current one, what kind of aerial setup have you now?

sorry, but you'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge - aerial set-up??

The aerial and satellite dish or both mounted on the roof of the house.

Where the aerial is located, type of aerial, aerial polarisation, quality of cabling, cabling to 1 TV or multiple TVs, splitters/amplifiers, alignment to nearest Saorview transmitter etc.

Poor signal possibly due to aerial misalignment, water ingress into aerial cabling connection, bad connections somewhere, other fault or a combination of above.

On a normal day what are the signal strength/quality readings via the TV's own meter? It could be close to signal cliff on a good day and falling over on a bad day. Signal quality should be as close to 100% as possible.
