    Morning,
has anyone any info on the irish release of 'godzilla resurgence'

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4262980/

I know it will be pretty limited but very interested in seeing it on the big screen, the new trailer looks great.

    thanks guys

It's not going to happen I'd say. There is a DVD release scheduled for the states months after the Japanese cinema release, but no domestic cinematic release currently scheduled.
With a new Kong movie and a Godzilla v Kong and a Godzilla 2 in the pipeline from hollywood, they simply don't want to muddy the marketing waters with Toho releases that are niche as best.

Kong looks good, but does not have that look and feel of the Japanese Godzilla, maybe the lighhouse in dublin will show it.

I will mail them and get a Private screening Setup ;-)

saw it in Thailand last weekend...
    Awful, awful movie!
SFX were just brutal... and most of the "satire" is lost in translation...

I love the old 60's and 70's Toho's particularly Destroy All Monsters, there's a bit of camp fun to them, they're a blast, but I disliked the look of Godzilla's latest incarnation from the trailer with his thin t-rex arms and it seemed a bit too serious, in the vein of the latest American remake.
I'm sure I'll catch this on DVD but in truth, if the US sequel is taking it's lead from Destroy All Monsters and gives us a less po-faced monster mash up then I'll consider that the Yanks might be doing better in the kaiju stakes then the Japanese at this point.
