Travelling to Cambodia with children

I'm thinking of going to Cambodia for a couple of weeks next May; two adults, two children (9 & 11).

Its about 13 years since I was there last, if anyone has been there more recently, can you tell me:
    (1) Is $US still the best currency to carry - no point in getting much Reil?
    (2) Does it still feel safe? Would you feel comfortable there with Children?
    (3) Did you notice many western families with children?

    Thanks!

    I was there last year:

    1. Yes US$ the best currency to carry although you get Reil in change in some places.
    2. I felt safe most of the time, if you discount the mad driving in some locations and the drunk tourists in the obvious spots.
    3. Didn't notice that many western families with children but then we were there during the school term in Europe so maybe that makes a difference.
