Choosing between A2W & MVHR brands

    Hi all,
So just back from home expo in Dublin.
I went in 99% sure I was doing the A2W and MVHR route for my build and didnt need to look more into it.

Now after talking to almost 10 different reps there for them systems they (of course) all have the best system and the man in the stall 2 paces down has a terrible one.
Some made valuable arguments on their systems, others had no leg to stand on.
(HIM: "My system has a 3 year parts and labor gaurentee"
ME: ....... thats great, I am building a house not buying a car, the heating system should at liest last me 7-10 years)

Now I understand that the key is to not loose heat in a house, and to have good thermal bridging, and air tightness and you wont need to have a good heating system if you retain the heat.
But.. my question is what did you guys look at when choosing a retailer for your heating.

What would you run away from.
Feel free to PM any bad retailer, or to praise any good ones.

    Thanks

Hi, have you decided on a supplier yet?

We're working with an energy consultant and his priority was running cost over time, rather than initial outlay, which is what a lot of suppliers try to 'fool' you with in order to get your sale.

Things like quoting you for a small hot water tank and some very middle of the road A2W systems will give you a low initial outlay but a higher running cost in the long term. If you have a larger tank (500l rather than 200l), it will allow you to take advantage of night rates and supply your entire day's hot water using cheaper tariffs.
