Were the Leopardstown or Greystones Aircoaches affected by the bus strike?

Will be travelling to the airport on Thursday morning (Sept. 15) when the next DB strike is due to take place, I can get the Greystones or Leopardstown Aircoach.

On the one hand, I figure the coaches will make better time heading in the N11 because there will be no 46As or 145s to compete with in the bus lanes but certain junctions closer to town could be a problem with the extra cars on the road....

Does anyone have any direct experience (or hear from a friend) about last week's strike and if/how it affected those Aircoach services to the airport in the morning?

Take the Leopardstown, it had extra capacity and was running at a higher frequency than normal and wasn't that badly hit by traffic.

Greystones was at normal frequency and was heavily hit by delays. due to traffic

I tracked the 08:00 Aircoach service from Greystones this morning (Tue 13th, no strike) using their app, it departed on time but was late by over 30 minutes getting to Cabinteely, seemingly because of the delay getting through Bray.

Does anyone know why live tracking is a 'hit and miss' affair with the Aircoach buses? They used to have live tracking on their website, that's long gone and these days less than half the buses you can see on the smartphone app have actual times listed against them, just scheduled times.

It will be the same on the strike days with not all buses showing up since there were a number hired in and wouldn't have the GPS equipment onboard them. Greystones route is a nightmare for traffic and the running time is a bit tight to say the least.

Aircoach are at the moment re-configuring their fleet and vehicles between the depots with a number of new vehicles coming on stream and during this period it's likely that some vehicles may not show up on GPS.

Dublin Coach suffered similar problems with their M50 service - delayed departures and the app was far from reliable.

Leaving people completely in the dark is the worst possible option. If the Aircoach app shows a bus on the move, you know there is a bus coming in your direction, something that isn't always the case with Dublin Bus where the RTPI display can show minutes counting down to the arrival of a bus, then it suddenly disappears and never shows up.
