Just back from a wonderful drive home from work in the sh1te weather. The heater up full blast to keep the fog off the windscreen, wipers on, wireless turned up, all grand.

All the usual adverts on the radio for various things like a Santa Experience, a local hotel, a shopping centre, ham, you get the picture.

The products advertised were all "Award Winning". Is there actually an award like the Oscars or something for ham? Seriously! Do all these companies just give each other awards so they'll all get awards?

Do I get an award for my award winning thread?

A Darwin Award is all yours

I see no evidence that they meet the very specific criteria for eligibility for a Darwin award.

Some just give themselves an award.

Anyway - this is for you , and unlike the aforementioned awards this one you have earned.

A few years ago in Waterford half of the pubs had plaques on the door saying they had some award or other. As far as I could see they bought their own and stuck them up...pub of the year, carvery of the year, pub grub of the year...Pub food of the year etc etc

Aldi or Lidi often have good taste award with a bronze silver or gold award on the pack so there must be some sort of tasting, comparing and awarding going on somewhere.

    In the imagination department, perhaps.

I looked it up it is a real thing.

But surely taste is subjective so hard to measure.

I always though being a wine, cheese or chocolate buyer for one of the leading supermarkets would be a fantastic job :D
